1. Were there any other particular takeaways for you? I think the biggest takeaway is that unit testing is very important as you write a large program. It's important to test parts of your code as you write it so you don't get stuck with a bunch of bugs later on. 2. How did you feel about cold calling? Cold calling was alright, sometimes I felt like I was put on the spot but it does make me actively engaged in case I get called on. 3. What required tool did you not know and now find very useful? I didn't know about PlantUML or Doxygen before this class and I found them both interesting tools for documenting. 4. You should have read two papers that advised minimizing getters and setters. What insights have they given you? I learned that we should try to minimize the number of getter and setters for the purposes of OOP design, but sometimes it seems impossible to get by without them. 5. How well do you think the course conveyed those takeaways? I think the class conveyed the...

  1. What did you do this past week? This past week I took my second algorithms exam. I also helped proctor an exam for 312 students. I received some work information about my summer internship this past week as well so I'm looking forward to working over the summer. My partner and I are almost done with the Darwin project so hopefully we can submit soon. 2. What's in your way? There's not much in my way, I need to catch up with my algorithms class since last week was kind of a blur. I have a networks lab I need to finish this next week but that's all I can think of at the moment. 3.What will you do next week? Next week I will finish a networks lab. I will also start grading the 312 student's second exam. I also will work on algorithms homework. 4. If you read it, what did you think of the Why getter and setter methods are evil? I didn't read it so I don't have any opinions. However, I remember from class that getters and setters aren't good for object o...

  1. What did you do this past week? This past week I worked on a Networks lab where my partner and I simulated the Buffer Bloat phenomenon. I also worked very hard to get the HackerRank test cases to pass on Friday with my partner and with a bit of bug fixing, were able to get it to work. I also finished grading assignments for 312 and I am preparing to help out with their exam tomorrow. 2. What's in your way? Right now I have to prepare for an algorithms exam tomorrow and I still need to grade more 312 assignments. Even though I finished the HR portion of Darwin, we still have to write the test cases so that needs to be done too. I have a networks quiz coming up on Thursday that I'll have to prepare for after the algorithms exam. 3. What will you do next week? Next week I will try to survive. That's all. 4. If you read it, what did you think of the Dependency Inversion Principle? I thought it made sense. You don't want your code to rely on too many other things otherw...

1. What did you do this past week? This past week my partner and I turned in the Allocator assignment. I also finished grading CS 312 exam 1 with the rest of the TAs and the professor. I had a Networks quiz which went better than expected considering the last two quizzes were a dumpster fire. 2. What's in your way? I have an Algorithms exam the week after this that I need to start preparing for. Also, I believe that the next assignment for this class will be released soon, so I will need to start working on that as well. I have a bunch of assignments for my Networks class that are due in this next week as well which I will need to find motivation to finish on time. 3. What will you do next week? I have to lead discussion section for 312 where I will go over the exam they just took. I will also work on homework for Networks and Algorithms, and perhaps start on the 4th assignment for this class.  4. If you read it, what did you think of the Interface Segregation Principle? I thought ...

  1. What did you do this past week? I finished Voting with my partner this past week. I also started on my Networks project that involves making an HTTP proxy. I took my first algorithms exam as well on Monday. 2. What's in your way? Right now I need to finish the Algorithms homework assigned for this week and I need to figure out how to advance my Networks Proxy farther than it is right now. I am running into some bugs that I'm not sure how to fix. 3. What will you do next week? I need to finish my Networks project next week and I need to start on the third project for this class. I also need to finish grading 312 assignments. I will also finish the algorithms assignment and turn it in. 4. What did you think of the reading? I did not read it so I don't know what to think of it. 5. What was your experience of arrays, iterators, and algorithms? (this question will vary, week to week) I feel better about arrays, iterators, and algorithms. I didn't know there was differen...

  1. What did you do this past week? This past week my partner and I worked on the Voting project and managed to pass the HackerRank test cases. I also worked on wrapping up my Networks project with my partner and finally after four weeks of working on it, turned it in on Canvas. I am currently preparing for my Algorithms exam tomorrow. 2. What's in your way? Right now I have a lot of pre-class exercises I have to complete for Networks, along with Perusall readings that still need to be done for that class. My partner and I for this class also need to finish wrapping up our project submission by generating documentation and running other people's acceptance tests.  3. What will you do next week? This upcoming week I will be taking my first Algorithms exam. I will also be starting on my new project for Networks, which has to do with HTTP proxies. My partner and I also need to finish the Voting project and turn it in on Canvas. This upcoming weekend I might also drive back to Au...

  1. What did you do this past week? This past week was a wild ride. To start off the week, I held discussion section for my 312 students where we covered Java graphics. Then I studied very rigorously for my Networks quiz, which went horribly not just for me but for most others as well. I turned in Collatz earlier this week too. Today I watched a rom-com movie (To All the Boys I Loved Before: Always and Forever) to wrap up the work week. 2. What's in your way? Right now I am trying to balance TAing with my own classwork. It is hard to watch students struggle with assignments that you could help them with, but I need to remember to take care of my homework as well and I can't help everyone. 3. What will you do next week? This next week I will be turning in my first programming assignment for Networks, where I created a threaded client and an asynchronous server in Python. This is the first time I have done socket programming and I hope that my code is up to their standards. I wi...
