CS371p Spring 2021: Debbie Wong

What did you do this past week? This past week my group and I worked on finishing the last touches for phase 2. We made different tables for our models and we had to implement web scraping for Youtube videos last minute as the Youtube API only allowed 100 requests per day, and we had over 1000 instances that needed Youtube videos. I also continued to work on my Game Tech project, where we successfully implemented networking so we could have a multiplayer game. My group for iOS also finished our first part of our app project, where we're making a calendar app of sorts. Overall, just lots of group work went into this past week. I also did a bunch of interviews this past week and I moved to the final round for Microsoft and AT&T. What's in your way? The only big thing in my way right now is the sheer workload I have for all my classes. All of my classes are project based classes and while that isn't a bad thing, trying to juggle so many large projects at the same time is a...

We made different tables for our models and we're working on populating them with the information we need. I also continued to work on my Game Tech project, where the goal is to implement networking to our video game. My group for iOS also finished our first part of our app project, where we're making a calendar app of sorts. Overall, just lots of group work went into this past week. The only big thing in my way right now is the sheer workload I have for all my classes.  What did you do this past week? This past week my group and I worked on setting up the PostgreSQL database for our backend. We made different tables for our models and we're working on populating them with the information we need. I also continued to work on my Game Tech project, where the goal is to implement networking to our video game. My group for iOS also started developing our app project for the semester. Overall, just lots of group work went into this past week. I also had my first round interview at Facebook, so I'm hoping to hear back from them soon. What's in your way? What did you do this past week? This past week my group and I finished our first phase for the SWE project. I was in charge of making the instance pages for the cities and filling out the model page for cities with more information. I also had a couple interviews lined up this past week and funny enough, my Facebook interview happened to be at the same time as the outage on Monday so I had to get it rescheduled for this upcoming Tuesday. I finished working on an iOS UI design document for my iOS class and finished grading 312 assignments. I also finished the first big phase for my video game technology class! What's in your way? 1. What did you do this past week? This week I applied for many new grad software engineer jobs. I also started grading 312's first exam, which to my surprise lots of people got perfect scores for the question I'm assigned to grade! I held office hours earlier this week to help out with their 5th assignment of the year. I continued to work on the SWE project with my group and I worked with my Game Tech group to create a 3D player that we will soon use to construct a video game. 2. What's in your way? I have 7 interviews/OA's lined up and I am very stressed out about them. I'm going try to knock most of them out this weekend but my Facebook phone screen is on Monday and I've been pretty nervous about it for the last week. 3. What will you do next week?
